Gary de-Vries is a highly competent and widely experienced Safety, Quality and Environment professional, manager and business Director. Gary has excellent interpersonal communicative skills. These skills have allowed him to successfully interact with people at all levels of industry.
Gary has proven himself whilst working in his dual role as the Safety, Quality and Environment Manager for the WA Operations of Boom Logistics. Within this role that crossed all facets of the resources, oil and gas, mining and construction sectors. Gary was responsible for ensuring the strategic Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental best practices were met.
Gary’s managerial/roles have encompassed contractor safety, injury management and behavioural safety management. Within Gary’s roles and current business operations he has lead safety professionals spread throughout Australia. Operational tasks have included regular interaction with blue-chip clients, major incident investigation, delivering training, budgeting, consultancy, auditing and strategic planning.
In a previous role as a Senior WorkSafe Inspector he investigated fatal and serious incidents. During this period, he led the branch in successful prosecution convictions. By keeping a close affiliation with the Inspectorate, Gary is able to draw on specialist knowledge when required.
Gary has also played major roles in many complex and challenging projects. Many of these projects had complex technical characteristics, onerous budgets & schedules and political & industrial implications for clients.
Gary is passionate toward Safety and the Environment and his disciplined, pragmatic and enthusiastic approaches are characteristics that drive him to positive outcomes focussing on a “No Harm” culture.
With a successful Safety, Quality and Environment Consultancy business operating since 2008, Gary (as a Director) has developed, implemented and managed clients in Contractor and direct Client capacities.
